Cannabis has made it’s debut on the modern art stage in New York with an exhibition of real hemp plants arranged with various flowers, ferns and fruits held at the Museum of Modern Art Satellite location in Queens. Titled, “Hothouse,” the exhibition and panel discussions moved to normalize cannabis and frame the plant in a refreshing, new light.
“Seeing it intermingle with other flowers we all know—like birds of paradise, and fruits and vegetables—shows that it’s natural, like all these other plants.” Remarking on the crowd, he added: “[An event like this] brings people out of the shadows.”
